serious concerns re: mfk that everyone should see

Well if you go publish your work in a book and decided to remain annoymus (I dunno how to spell that word sorry) or you sign it like mfk's claiming the work and then you also have the picture on this site, you can just go say that mfk posted it in the book and again sue them for money. If they dont have that term up there, then you win, but because they do - you cant go do that. Its just covering there butt for situations people might come up with. That or I am just the only weirdo who can think of what people would do... o__o :screwy:

Again they dont get the money from outside and stealing pictures. Its money that is hard earned from admins that they put into this site to keep it going. Some of the stuff given away in raffles are either fish that are donated for the raffel or paid out of pocket by the admin or mod who is doing the raffel.
 
rumblesushi i am only concerned because ive never seen anything like it - especially the bit about corporate partners - on this kind of site..... i mean it just made me think 'so how are these guys making money off all of this free stuff?'

seriously i think the owner of the site can clear it all up..... and if youre trying to make money with it theres nothing wrong with that -- thats perfectly american... if thats the case though theres also nothing wrong with being up front about it.......

Why are you worried about MFK putting together a book if the contents are freely accessible to everybody on the net?! :confused:

I did not write the legal statements. Other sites may or may not use these exact words. MFK does. So what?! Your contributions should not be influenced by financial interests. If you think your pictures are worth publishing - go ahead and release a book. If you think your contributions are worth publishing - go ahead and write a book. At MFK, everyone works together towards one goal: Happy Monster Fishkeeping.

I am a moderator, and I do it for free. So do all others who run and maintain this site. Noone asks for compensation. Some things in life are just worth investing time & efford. MFK is one of them. Have you ever participated in a bake sale? Ever volunteered? Did you get any financial compensation for working for a greater good?

As stated above, if MFK decided to release a book, I'd be proud to be part of it, without financial interest.

As a matter of fact, I think it'd be a great idea! Let's make a book on keeping monster fish! That would be a great contribution to the hobby and the money could be used for this site and for member benefits :thumbsup:

why am i being told that i am threatening someone or putting the site down??? i am just asking perfectly reasonable questions..... i like using my right to free speech.... nothing wrong with that is there??
