Serious need of help! :(

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I can't effectly help you, without answering the questions I asked about your water perameters. The tank is very much over crowded which adds not only to the difaculty of keeping the water in good condition but is very stressful to the fish which will inturn compromise their immune system making it easier for opertunistic pathogens to take hold. You should be doing frequent water changes and substrate vacuming. I don't know that salt alone is going to resolve this issue, however I can't recomend a corse of treatment without the information I asked for yesterday.

I am clueless as to how to test the water I will have a go tonight and let you know because I have all the testing kit. I always do water changes, daily infact, and always clean the gravel as well because the Oscars are messy buggers haha. The tank wont be as crowded in two weeks as I am getting a 4ft and a corner tank to house some of the fish.

If you take a water sample to your LFS have them check Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, Ph and Gh. These values will help determine the most effective medacation. I have a suspicion this may be some form of aremonas but it is diffacult to be sure. Being in the UK you don't have acess to all the meds we have here so we'll see what we can do. While your at the LFS look around and see what kind of antibiotics/meds they have.

Will do thank you for the help, sorry I can't give you more information but I will try my best to get info to save these fish :)

Hello Everybody,
Sorry for the late reply been hella busy getting together some stuff to save these Flowerhorns.

They are now in a 75 liter hospital tank and have tonic salt and methylene Blue in there with them, they both look happier as a result.
The bigger Flowerhorn appears to have mouth fungus as well as some weird looking gash on the side of his body, but is still acting in a healthy fighting manner.

The smaller Flowerhorn has a gash down his side but since being put in the hospital tank is recovering well and is incredibly hyper, swimming around like nothing is the matter with him.

Hopefully the worst is behind them and they are on the road to recovery :)

Update on the remaining two Flowerhorns...

ALIVE AND WELL :)

I was told to use Methylene Blue and Tonic Salt to help them recover and it worked a hell of a lot. w
Within a week the Gashes on the side of their body had completely gone, along with the fungus growing on the gash, and on the lips.
They are now very healthy and are being considered breeding partners for my female Parrots :)

Great news glad they made it.

And another addition to this great news is they have paired off! If they successfully spawn I will have picked up a breeding pair for a small £20! ($32.26!)
