Serious Problem!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
my nitrate was a level 10 not that bad, and amonia was 0

i have no idea i didnt have that tested? i dont even know the difference to be honest

isnt that caused by live plants?

no BB converts ammonia to nitrite and then to nitrate. nitrate is almost an bad as ammonia is to your fish. it sound like you got serious water problems if your ph was at 6 and then jumped up to 6.4 after a WC. sounds like you havent been doing enough WC's to keep your tank stable and are now suffering the concequences.

He says it wasn't ammonia in this case, he posted it as 0. dmopar, you mean nitrIte is just as bad as ammonia. Live plants do not cause it.

Rapid ph fluctuations can kill fish. That may be the problem. I also agree that these rapid fluctuations may be from not keeping up with water changes in the past, and now doing a lot of them.

i was doing water changes ever other week usually is that not a good strategy? should i do it every week? whatever i have to do to keep my fish im doing so.... let me know

what about this product called "proper ph 7.0" is ti worth using my buddy let me borrow it to try to stabilize my tank?
