Where are you in ontario? I am selling one now and dragon aquarium in To often has some though they are overpriced. A resonable price for one is around 100$ though they can range from 50$-200$ depending on who is selling it. If you are anywhere near TO you shouldn't have problem finding one farily cheap.

Powerheads should not make any noise.

A 55g will work or a 50g. I would seriousl conside a tank that is 48x18 as a 50 or 55g will seriously limit your p stocking options if you decide you want more down the road. If you are sure you don't want more p's down the road I would do 55 over 50 for the extra length sicne they are quick fish.

price depends on size and the place you order from, some places are more expensive than others.
power head is under water and should be dead silent at least I couldn't hear anything from mine. I like Hydor koralia power head.

For an elong in a 75 i would look for 2000-3000 gph
