i have 4, is this a lethal idea? i have two that are so territorial over the other two. my two biggest are in perfect shape swimming around with eachother, the other two have severly nipped fins, a bite right behind the head on both, and very stressed. what do i do? add a boat load of guppies? through in a boat load of convict fry as like a dither fish. or do i need to part them out.

Left a lot of info out tank size, Mac size. Plenty of hiding spots.id try the convict or guppie thing first. If no improvement it would be a gamble to leave them in together. Macs are notorious cannibals until 3-4". I know sometimes it don't matter what kind or how many dithers they'll pick on there own.I had the same problem with Gatf.maybe you need a bigger dither? Not one that's gonna beat your Macs up but big enough to keep the meaner ones in check.maybe a lil bigger convict?could split the tank in two also.

its a 75 gallon with some driftwood and plants, the macs are about 3-4" and the aggression only just started to pick up. there is a 13" pleco and two 1.5" convicts right now, but i have a whole nother litter of convict fry.

also try lower the water temperature, that helps the aggression a bit.
whats your temperature now? try to lower to 75F see if there's improvement

oh, the temp actually effects that? i just put in a heater and upped it, thought it would help, i get not. thanks, could i still throw in some more cons?

you could throw in some convicts but not sure how well it will help out as they are probably not attacking each other out of hunger.

not of the wounds, they are recovering fast, i just have been to lazy to get any pics of the bites.

oh no, i have a video of them eating, but not any clear pics.
