Seting up a sump setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So based on

MODEL MD 18 - UPC 02718
Maximum Flow Rate: 1800 GPH

Watts: 150

GPH at 0': 1500

GPH at 1': 1325

GPH at 3': 1200

GPH at 5': 1100

GPH at 7': 1050

GPH at 10': 875

GPH at 15': 575

Shutoff: 16.85'

So just run three feet of line up and it only pumps at 1200 gph?

That's correct. I'm guessing it will have to push water closer to 5' up, so that would be 1,100GPH.

But if I were you, I would return the Mag Drive and get a Laguna Max Flo 1500, which does 1,215GPH @ 5' of head pressure and only consumes 100 watts. The extra 50 Watts that the Mag Drive uses will add up over time. Assuming you pay the national avg for electricity ($.11/KWHr) the Mag drive will cost you almost $50 more per year to run.

So I have been setting up my sump. I plumbed cutoffs at the overflows and at the returns. So I can
cut it all off and pull any filtration part out. I am plumbing the pump externaly and hooking up a bypass
for the lifegards if theres to much pressuare on the guage and I am busy with work. One overflow will
be able to go out a window to drain the tank and I can just toss the hose in. Any other have to do things
im not thinking of?
