Crushed coral substrate with a light covering of multi sized river stone makes for a very nice natural look. Add in a select piece of driftwood...a few tall plants and you have a wonderful river environment for a small selection of medium sized fish or a single breeding pair.

General purpose sand (darker than pool filter or play), a Geo. and a couple nice Sevs.
My geo has helped the "stuff" on the sand by always sifting and keeping it stirred to the filter intakes.

dude just look at pictures and take what you like from them. but make sure you do a little research. such as what they need to be in a tank. ph factors? stuff like that.

then think of the fish you'd like. would they eat your plants? whats more important, the fish or plants.

some subrates are known to irritate fish bellies too. is the one you choose goin to do that to the fish you pick also?

good luck.

personally. I like the black. but its so exspensive that i am oppting for pool filter sand.
