Setting up a new tank. Should I have painted the stand?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You guys are silly. Obviously the OP wants to paint that stand black/pink for his 300g monster fish tank... be reals folks he ain’t that stupid to much that small of a tank on a stand like that. The damages wouldn’t be enough!

That tank is/was really on that.... cabinet? So, let us treat it seriously. Bud, that is a disaster waiting to happen. Over time gravity will cause the seams to ruin themselves and eventually either the glass will pop out of place or it will just break. All of that water will be on the floor. If you're not home then the fish will die. The floor and the room itself most likely will be ruined. This is not something you can do, you must take it off. Get some cement blocks and a piece of plywood that is capable of holding the tank and make a cheap strong tank stand.

Is this for real? Or as a joke? If for real, I would say paint the stand and get a bigger stand, if getting a new stand too much work, then put the tank on the floor.

Paint! n 2x4’s ?

I think the stands too big OP you should probably cut it in half to save room for more tanks. Btw this is a troll thread people

Hahaha, that set up is mad. It looks so unbalanced i'm surprised the weight of that tub of fish food on the left hasn't toppled it.

On a more serious note you need to get down too your doctor and change your meds, your current batch is making you do crazy stuff man.

Looks to be a 46 bowfront...not crazy weight to deal with. Op could cut a couple boards to fit under the tank, center them on that thing, fasten them down and have a fine stand. With some sanding and repainting it could even look good too.

It is very possible the OP is either new at this, young or completely unaware of the danger in his post so please give him/her a chance to learn without the snide comments.
