I didn't have the tools necessary to put it back in last night. Picked that up tonight. I looked and read tubes at HD and Lowes for 45 minutes for the right silicone. I got GE S1 All Purpose Window and Door. I finally got the setup corrected so it could hold in place. My wife helped a ton. I went back about an hour after I was done I went back to check the curing time... and realized that it says "not for use below water line or in aquariums." Damn I feel stupid...
I plan on calling them tomorrow to ask... but I think that just means maybe that it shouldn't be submerged. It doesn't say that it has any of the mold or mildew additives.. I feel really stupid that I didn't see that at the store.
I bought a second sump to overflow in to my existing sump so I can use the filter socks and weldon 16. I am re-sealing both now to make sure they are good. Turns out I had to re-seal my 1g too. It was leaking on the counter.
So in the 210 right now I have about 100g of water, river rocks, about 3g of bio balls, some drift wood, the mature substrate from my 1g in a media bag, 1 small granulosis and some guppies. I also added all of the water from the 1g. I'm hoping that it's enough to jump start the cycle.
I've got some more wood, plastic plants and some black sand to complete the aqua scape.
These older Allg Glass aquariums had a center brace that fit between the front and the bacj. Took a few tries with clamps, 1x4 I guess they are pieces of wood I had laying around and some ratchet straps. I had bought $80 worth of 4 big c-clamps that did no good. My wife applying the silicone.
We tried several different variations of using the straps. In this config without the wood with a lot of weight on the coffee tables they were still lifting up. Then she had the idea to add the wood like that. Genius.
I moved the guppies from the 1g..... They sat there googling for 10 minutes... I have already paid for my order of fish from Rapps.. I can't wait until I get some more GOOD fish in there. They're going to love it!!
