Setting up Allgator Snapping turtle Tank

many years ago, i was fishing with several buddies and ran into a georgia farmer who had just caught one about as big as the one in the picture posted by mrrunluckyo7. it was a beast! he had it in a tub on his boat. he stuck a stick in it's mouth and the thing hissed and grabbed it and would not let go. when the farmer finally got the stick free, it had marks on it that made me realize how dangerous the critter was. i don't see the appeal for having one as a pet. if it can't be taken care of properly, it needs to be set free.

i think they are awesome if someone has got the skills and dedication to get one to the size that they become a health risk i am sure they will, by that time be well rehearsed in the ways of the snapper.
