Setting up first sump: overflow box selection

You will get some sand like particles in the tank, but most just slide down the outside with the cooling water.
When using a proper diamond drill bit, most particulate is the size of fine dust.

Dont try drilling a 10 gallon. You will break it.

Srilling tanks is stipid easy. I have drilled 14+ holes (larhest was for 2 inch bulk heads) so far. Only issue was when i was too lazy to check to see if my 55g was tempered.....it was. I lost that one. That is on me.

Regular glass drills easy. Use lots of lube (water) on the bit.

Be sure to make a template the size of the hole you will be drilling, to keep the drill from sliding around, use even pressure, go slow, amd use lots of cooling water as the Juniormonsterkeeper recommended.
As you can see in my photos, I clamp the template to the tank, and drill a vertical tube size hole on top of the template to insert the cooling water tube, or hose in, or over.
