Setting Up My 8' Tank - Pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks. We are now moving on to the double rack stand. This tanks is up and running ok. The mag 12 is more than enough pump for this tank. I'm getting great water movement with it. Here are a few more pics.

You know whats sad. I have had this tank filled for about an hour now and I'm looking at it and saying to myself. Man I should have gone bigger! I could have fit a 10' tank down that wall.

Very nice setup, can't wait to see fish in it!

Looking good bud...glad the 12 worked out for you!! And isnt that so the MFK norm....upgradeitus before you even have fish in it :D

Yeah I'm ready for an upgrade honestly. It is a 240 if you measure the interior dimensions. A guy from a ship local told me that it was a 270, but I think he is incorrect. I honestly haven't measure it, but it was custom.

Thanks. I'm thinking about getting a 400 gallon and putting it on there.

Thanks its probably gonna be the same kind of fish that you have in your avatar. I'm going to let it cycle for a week or two first I think.

Use some tetra safe start. I put 4 bottles in my 240 and added 15 fish to the tank...then a week later 3 more....then a few days after that 3 more...then a couple days later 3 more (this includes catfish and plecos). So tomorrow will make 14days of fish and I have been testing my water 2x a day and its all been 0! I feed twice a day and have not done a water change yet. The tank ran for a couple weeks with just water in it and no de-chlor before I added the fish but im sure that didn't have any effect on it. So if you ask me...that stuff works.

As for the gallons...if it measures out to be a 240 INSIDE the tank...if you measure the outside it might come to 270. They normialy take outside measurments ot get a gallon on a tank...not correct...but how its normaly done.
