I just setup my 75g today.
here are some pictures of the tank front and side, does it look ok for wolf fish? or there are too much driftwood in it?

I'm gonna try to a pair of convicts in there first, hopefully they'll make it for a while and make lots of babies. that's free food for the wolf. that's a good idea or I shouldn't do it?

I'm wanting to get a h. microlepis as it won't out grow my tank but doesn't seem to get a clear idea how to ID it, other than "reverse dorsal fins". so if someone knows please let me know. picture would be great too. :)

sweet as always! Can you do my rhoms tank when you get a chance. Admire this one and ares tank

sure thing, bring the tank over and I'll see what i can do :)
Actually I stole the drift on the left from Ares' tank. he's still mad about it. lol

what is that substrate? would love to use it when i redo my tank (if the missus allows me to, she found out how much the last rescape cost)

damn, that sux. the substrate is just regular black gravel, shouldn't be able to find them from any lfs.

I got the hoplias microlepis, didn't seem that big in the store but once it's in the tank it's like HUGE. lol (about 10" I would say)
was still swimming around in the tank yesterday but today it was hiding amount the driftwoods. I thought it jumped out because I couldn't see it in the morning.
now I need to get it on prepared food, any suggestion?

I had successs getting my mala on to market shrimp - I tied the end of the shrimp to fishing line (very loosely) and made the shrimp jiggle about in the water near the wolf. It took a few weeks of the wolf not eating before she took the shrimp but it worked.

This got her used to shrimp and having to come out in the open to eat.

My only issue now is she will only eat shrimp, so i spike them with massivore and sinking carnivore pelets etc.

I also now have to feed her the shrimp off a plastic "grabber" (kinda like huge tweezers) as she nailed my fingers once too often.

great looking tank btw.

Thanks Rambo. do you still feed some feeder in the mean while or you just let her starve for few weeks?
