I got a new pair. Much smaller than before and just about to hit sexually maturity. They are hiding in these pics but I'm gonna give them a run with discus as tankmates. I've had luck with angels and I figured I'd try this with my 150 gallon.

I'm running co2 and going to grow the plants out a bit. I plan to move the angels to my 180 with my zebrina when I sell the cichla and then add a few more of the discus to this tank. I'm thinking of staying with the blue snakeskin type to contrast the reds of the pikes. Maybe 8 discus total with the two pikes. Maybe 7 discus?

If you have any suggestions, please advise.

No suggestions, but wanted to say nice scape. Your pikes should love it.

I'd do 8 discus 4-5 blue snakeskin and the rest a little variety but that's just me haha, setup looks great. I know what ever you chose it'll look good man.

Btws where did you get your pair from ? John K? I've been looking for a male for my 3 females (I think they're T1 most likely but differentiating T1 and T2 females is tricky Oliver lucanus thinks they're T2 but after he mis IDed my atabapo I for sp. venezuela idk lol)

It was John. They are definetly tapajos 1. You can tell by the lack of cobra pattern as juvies and the fact that the male's get just as bright red as the females when mature.

Nice! you should get some pics I'd love to see them! how big are they? Are they a bonded pair?

More pics with a few more discus. Hoping my plants really start to fill in soon.
