Personally, I think plants look a lot better on a black background. Annubias is a great idea. They are super hardy, fish don't bother them, and they are awesome. Just be aware, annubias won't do well if planted in substrate. It has to be attached to a rock or even better a piece of driftwood.

People can give suggestions and help with set up but don't let others determine the aesthetics of your tank, what you think is best you should get, personally one of either of those filters would be ok if its just tetras and plants
