How is reptile carpet any different then paper towel?

I dont understand your point here..... did I ever advocate paper towel, or are you making an arguement that both paper towel and carpet are good for fossorial reptiles? Both of which I hope you arent condoning because Id figure you would know better.

Would you like to sit in jail cell in white walls only with just a bunk bed and sheet and pillow to sleep in at night?

I had the same problem but not so bad
It's kind of more expensive but buy "calcium sand" or "repti-sand"
It basically melts and turns to calcium in there digestive system!!!

I had heard never use calcium sand due to it's grain size, and the amount of sand they would absorb is negligible anyways. I could be wrong though, that's happened at least twice in my life.

Calci sand is serrated and sharp and could cut their insides, the other alternative you offered is much much better :)

You're saying that carpet eliminates all natural functions that the reptile would perform. Wouldn't you say that paper towel would do the same? I am not recommending carpet because it can carry bacteria in it but I do however recommend paper towel. Maybe not for bearded dragons since I have no experience with them but for leos I highly recommend paper towel.

Agreed calci sand is the worse sand you could use.

What, you didn't know that pakistan is covered in paper towels? Gotta keep it natural.

I just leave a bowl of calcium out of my guys, and after they eat, they'll just go much some calcium. Kinda off topic, but really cool none-the-less

A glass box really isn't natural now is it?

You can get away with it for leos granted your giving a humidity/laying hide, but bearded dragons not so.... perhaps the first couple of weeks after pipping, for those finicky purell hand santizier using people :) and yes I will say it again and again, reptiles that love to dig to burrow/thermoregulate/nest/escape predators will perish in paper towel carpet conditions, leopard geckos are mostly found in nooks and crevices, which is why you can use a hide and be able to use paper towels. Their small sizes help in this case as well.

I think seth shows a great example of how to keep a leo gecko properly, we took them out of the wild and placed them in a glass box, but we should at least make them comfortable :)

Alright, at least we are on the same page I suppose.
