Somebody last year bred a red spot severum with a blood parrot and i always remember this because it was the first time id actualy seen fertile offspring from a severum hybrid.

anyway two of my fish look to be pairing up and ive sexed as male and female. the interesting thing is the mix will be Rotkeil severum and a FH-BP.

the parrot is female and has really got markings and colours. the severum is larger and starting to grow his red on his neck, if these guys breed what will the young come out as? and if anyone has any pics of severum and parrot offspring would be good to show them!

many thanks El

Hmmm interesting. I would like to know also as I have a female BP who regularly lays eggs and there is a young red spot sev inn there. Wonder if he might do the deed when he is old enough.

I've heard that severums were used in creating parrots.

that is wrong info bro. the myth of the sev being used was to throw ppl off so they couldn't produce parrots. kinda like a slight of hand sorta speaking.

well i've tried to breed my male severum with my female BP in there own tank but i didn't had any luck, they look to ignore each other!!!!
