Thanks for the response guys and as for worming I deworm the tank once every 4 weeks I used to keep discus and have carried on the practice with this tank

I use a product called fluke solve been using it for years on discus and other wild fish such as angels also works fantastically well
Used that many times also I actually have sum here iv never been impressed with it but mite give it a try again at the weekend. To be honest though I dont think the lack of growth is down to external parasites im starting to think that maybe my water hardness could be something they dont like
They are all eating like pigs and are nice and plump and showing great colours that's why I'm thinking water hardness over parasites but anything's possible
Not necessarily. Wild caught fish carry parasites as they live with them in the wild. Aquarium settings are stressful but normally when you see the pinched look is when things have progressed. With worms, and especially wild caught fish I'd treat...It doesn't need to be on the day you get them....but praziquantel and flubendazole are safe enough to do at least one treatment of each. They're not antibiotics so they don't wreak havoc on the micro diversity in the tank to the same extent.

Fluke solve is active in the water for weeks, so I'd start with Kusuri wormer. The treatment is twice 4 days apart and it is bio-degradable. Give the fish a break, some water changes, dose the fluke solve then.
