I have a 7-8 in. green severum. He is in a 125 gallon tank alone. I would like to get a red and gold severum, about the same size as my green, and put them in with him. Will this work? Is there going to be serious aggresion issues? Are there things that i can do to make this work? for instance, stock the tank with more smaller severums (or other fish) on top of the two that I want. Let me know your thoughts!

Also, besides gold, red, and green severums, what are some other types of severums that have good colors? Any pics you may have would be great too!
THANKS!

In a 125? You have tons of room... Severum will chase, but almost never actually injure smaller Sevs... and even that is minimal unless there is a mated pair involved.

Get the Sevs that you want, and add some dither fish of some kind... Right now, your tank is empty.

I have a 125 with a mated pair of Sevs , and angels , silver dollars , BGK and catfish . All are a good sized fish (2 + years ) and I think I would like more in mine . Aggression even when my Sevs breed is only a chase and nip .

Wow that tank looks nice.

I would not advise adding 2 more full grown severums. Your current severum will either beat them both up or pair with one and then the pair will beat the other one to death. 3 of one species of cichlids is almost always a bad idea. You will have much better luck adding juvie severums, they will not be looked at as threats and will not get picked on nearly as much. Either add 1 severums of the opposite sex as yours or add 4-6 juvies. You will mainly see green, gold, and red spotted in stores, but there are also many wild types such as rotkeils, Inirida's, Abalios, and so on. Go to tangledupincichlids.com and look at his picture page for all the wild type heros species :)
