no way to be sure break open a bottle of fine wine dim the lights put on some opera and see if anything happens that'll give you a heads up 
. Joking aside maybe a lowering of the pH to 7 will help to strike the mood (that always causes mine to twich, shake, lip lock, dig and play the courting game). I think thats the only way youll find out the sex if you get them to court each other.

ph is sitting around 6.5-7, no interest in oneanother, one has taken to my big male Syn, and the larger one seems to be a loner.
The way that you tell that Severum are male or female is by the facial markings near there facial area.the males usually have spot around there face and females do not and I know this because I have had two breeding pairs and both are like this!!!
