Severum ID help

I should also mention that most domestic “green severums” that are farm-bred for pet stores show these blotches, and that is due to the fact that severums have been hybridized for decades in the aquarium trade. Lots of fish got imported under the vague names “green” and “turquoise” severum, and they were all freely interbred. It’s why there is so much variation in captive-bred Heros. Different locales were not kept separate. Fish that later became their own species (or may still one day become their own species) were lumped into the “green” or “turquoise” name, even if they were significantly different in appearance and size.

Thanks Ryan, that really cleared that up. Wish I'd have had those details 5 years ago and I wouldn't have over paid. But they have been a blast to keep, nothing I've ever kept could could change colors in so many ways and not even remotely as fast. So I can say I got MY money's worth but still only left with a hundred dollar pair of fish now that it's time to rehome them
