That's an awkward one from so many angles! Heros 'cf' covers so many different fish, and they have in certain areas decided that the two are one. However there are differences within biotope and regional variations, hence the "cf" that sets different variances aside.
There is no overall decision on this, and only a few minds that have decided it to be true..
I've seen so many different colors, shapes, sizes, temperaments from so many different Heros species on my hunt for knowledge about them that I'll hold judgement on that untill someone that really is in the overall know makes that decision
