I recently picked up these two severums for my stingray tank, they were in the same tank when i got them and the owner said they got along really well together, since bringing them home I've noticed they have been swimming together the entire time, sometimes a little separated , sometimes side by side, never too far apart. i noticed they spend time in the back corner of the my tank and i saw one of them kind of fanning the glass up and down , the same type of behavior i would see angelfish do when breeding. one of them also keeps shaking / vibrating its body and fins at the other, i have not noticed lip locking, when i approached the corner where one was "fanning" they got spooked and one rushed out of hiding to greet me while the other panicked and hid. I have included two pictures of them because im honestly unaware of their sex as i have never owned severums before.
To me it seems like breeding rituals, but again I've never owned severums so id just like to make sure and learn more.

You are right possibly trying to spawn noticed the breeding tube of the severum top pic. I personally can't tell you the difference in sex.

The “tube” on the 1st pic appears to be male; triangulated & pointy. It’s his wiener 🤗

The ovipositor, or egg tube, in a female will look like a short fat cylinder with a blunt end.
I also have no experience w sevs, but you could watch & wait, or catch them and get an in focus pic of their vents for us to analyze for you 🤗

so i have two more images, one seems to be more pronounced on one then the other, the second pic is hard to see but it just barely pokes out,

Again, not a sev expert, but the top one looks distinctly like a female ovipositor. I’d say you have a pair. Also, because the ovipositor is protruding, a spawn is very close!
