Wanting to get 4 severum's a red, roteil, gold, maybe a green would they work ok in a 150 72x18x29 or depending on sex pair off and became territorial. should i just get two.

depending on the size when you start them out.. yes it could work... if they grow up together from small size :)

I am new to sevs also. I got 2, maybe 3inch golds a couple weeks ago, & one is a total pecker. literally rushes at & pecks at the others' flank area. some scales look shaved off. I just want to flick him in the head. LOL. probably better off to add several at the same time & choose from them., my easiest source only had golds & I want a variety- not a bunch of the same color. so I'm looking for options. if the little pecker doesn't stop, he may be re-homed.
They're in a 180G with bigger geos & small dithers.
He is better when I hang greens to munch on, but they deteriorate quick.

I say it could work. Just watch the personality and aggression. I had 5 sevs (4 golds, 1 rotkeil) in the same tank and they were all perfectly happy with no aggression.

I'd say it would be the individual personalities you would need to watch, if anything.

Thanks for the info. think I may just see what happens. Having a hard time finding a rotkeil at my lfs any ideas where to get a nice one online.

Four severums should be fine in a 150 but there's always the chance of aggression as they grow and try to establish their dominance over each other. I've always experienced younger severums going through this from the 3 - 5" stage, then mellowing out as adults once they work out who's who. Of course, there's always the occasional rogue severum who just doesn't get along with anything.
