I've had up to 6 adult rotkeils, few geos, few guianacara, etc. in a 6 ft 135 gal tank with no problems. Had two pairs with the rotkeils eventually and when time came to spawn for whichever pair, they'd just pick one end of the tank, so still not a problem in a 6 ft. tank. Occasional minor chase, sometimes a bit of fussing, etc. but no big deal, nothing you wouldn't get with angels, discus, geos, etc. It's certainly possible to get a mean severum but ime tank size makes a difference with them.

Definitely can give it a try and see how it works out. I would start them off in the 2-4" size range and by the time they reach max size, they should have worked out who is the dominant one. But as several above had said, just watch the aggression. It's rare, but some sevs just don't get along with anything.

Thanks for the info. think I may just see what happens. Having a hard time finding a rotkeil at my lfs any ideas where to get a nice one online.

Try aquabid.com for fish online. They tend to have some there. You may want to check out the mfk marketplace, too.
