My turquoise and (blue face) green severum spawned!! Only 5 white eggs so far out of many on the driftwood... I am excited because I have been trying to get them to spawn for weeks!! I will get some pics soon...
Mine always hatch in 2. It may depend on water temp -- I keep my sevs in the low to mid 80s. By the end of day one the eggs should darken and you should be able to see black spots where the eyes are on day 2.
Is it fine to leave the fry in the tank until they are free swimmers? Just like any other breeding cichlids? I have bred RD's like 10 times in the same tank.
I would say it depends on the parents. Try it, if they eat the wrigglers, then remove them next time they spawn. Young severum's can sometimes be lousy parents, so just watch them.
