Severum Spawn!

Did you use RO water to get them to breed, and did you have you water temp at? Just curious I am interested in starting a breeding tank of some sort and just wanted to know what is successful.

Truly, all I did was put male and female severums together, they chose a spot, and the there were a lot of babies...


I will try to get some bbs to raise tonight. They are all swimming now, and there are a lot...

I do not mean to be a "party-killer" but I`m quite sure that you do not have severum...
You said that the female fanned the eggs?
The real severum is an immedeate mouthbrooder. All the other species of Heros are substrate brooders though.

I have severums...I dont know if the female was fanning or swimming...she did put the leftover eggs in the gravel

severum is the common name for all the species in the genus Heros here in the states
