So I'm almost done acquiring juvenile severums for my SA community tank. The tank will be almost all sevs with with one chocolate. I already have 2x green/turquiose, 1 gold, 1 red, and the chocolate they're all about 2-3" growing out in a 75 atm. I'm almost ready to set up a bigger tank which will be either a 125 or 180 depending on budget.

Could I add another 2-3 severum in a 125 for a total of 6 plus the chocolate?

How many for a 180? I don't want an overly cramped tank but I love the look of sevs schooling and interacting.

ryansmith83 ryansmith83 is probably the best resource on this long term. He had aggression issues I believe, particularly with older heros.

I think 4 with the chocolate in a 125 is plenty. More due to the aggression issues stated above.

My 2 sevs in my 75 are going to need separated, you have only 50% more footprint with 150% the stock. Not saying you are overstocked but there's always a chance it won't work, and adding more fish exponentially lessens your chances.

I've been looking at a lot of tanks with similar stock to what I actually want and I think the solution for me will just be to get a bigger tank. I'll see what I can afford after the move but I'm guessing I'll need a 180 or preferably a 7 foot tank for the stock I want. Maybe if I get a 7-8 footer I can do some true parrots too.
