hi guys

i have some gold red and whit severum and i wonder if i can put these fish with them :

- uruo
- discus
- tetras(bigger than there mouth,black widow..etc)

my sev 1-3 inc

?

urua<beautiul very placid fish should be ok all depends on the size of the tank
got to be gigg tetras or things similar<congo tetras are good

I don't think the discus would be ok with the severums, but I never tried it so maybe. How big of a tank are they in?

thanks guys 4 the help

How big of a tank are they in?
they are in 60 cm tank (20 gal) for now

but i will move them to a bigger tank in the near future when i decide what i will put in it beside severum

Uaru need to be kept in at least pairs and they get large 12" or so...

so you are gong to need a big tank to keep them.

festivums are good options as tankmates, they are very docile cichlids, but large enough to mix with severums

Ive kept giant danios, plecos, whip tails cats, twig cats, numerous loaches, synodontis, larger live bearers etc with my severums with no problem.

As they get larger, they get slower, so you can start introducing smaller fish too (odd i know)

Ive currently got a collection of guppy fry, and some 1" loaches in my 100 UK gal with a 10"+ breeding pair, with no problems at all.

As for cichlids, its a funny one, because sevs are pretty peaceful.

Ive seen success in the past with fire mouths, chocolate cichlids and uarus, but be careful. The last two are of a similar shape to sevs and this can cause problems.

Why not just got some more sevs? mis some mouth brooders with substrate spawners, some reds, golds and greens. Always looks a treat

Discus obviously are out of the question. Deep-bodied tetras stand a chance of surviving predation more than torpedo shaped ones. Uarus are fine.
