Im Looking for a blueish fish to keep with my severums. have green and yellow ones with the largest being about 4 inches.

i had been thinking of a texas?

What size is the tank and what are the current fish in the tank along with there sizes?

Texas are generally a little 2 mean for severums. Might work, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Blue acara, EBJD, or yes rainbows if it doesn't have to be a cichlid.

they are currently in a 50g tank. there is one 4 inch sev, 2 3inch sevs and 4 little ones which will be rehoused with a freind once they are large enough to not be food for her chocolate. also in the tank is a black mollie (first fish the kids got about 2 years ago) and a purple spotted Gudgeon which also is awaiting a new home in a native biotype tank i am currently planning.

reason i was looking to add another fish now is so that they can bond while growing rather than waiting and adding once the severums have gotten to much bigger

50g won't be big enough for 3 full grown severum. Adding another fish would guarantee that you need a larger tank.

in that size tank do not add any more tankmates. you have too many as it is. in something larger than a 90g it may work.
