I currently have a 55 and a 125. The 55 houses a bunch of neons who are keeping the bio filter alive and well for when I get a breeding pair of geos. My 125 houses a super red severum, 6 geo red head tapajos, and 4 festivum. All the fish are between 3-5". I will also be getting two EBJDs to add to the 125 soon. I will rehome the uglier of the two when they get to be 6-8".

What I want to do is get a 75 or 90 gallon tank to house the festivum and geos in with some lemon tetras (any breeding pairs will get their own tank to spawn in if they are too aggressive).

Then I want to turn the 125 into a tank for some larger cichlids. I will keep the severum and one of the EBJDs, so I am looking for some recommendations on what will likely be good to keep with them around the 8-12" range. I am thinking of adding a flagtail prochilodus, but the stories of them going crazy and attacking the slime coat of their tank mates has me worried (though I suppose I could just monitor it carefully and rehome them if necessary).

So hit me up with some recommendations. I would prefer to have at least four cichlids/large fish in this tank (including the two I will already have).

I keep mine with chocolates right now. I'd love to do a true parrot but I hear they are hit or miss with aggression levels.

My stocking with 2x Severum:

-Cichlids-
1X Albino Tiger Oscar
1X Lutino Tiger Oscar
1X Rotkeil Severum
1X Turquoise Severum
1X Marbled Angel
2X Blue Acara
1X Firemouth
1X Nicaraguan
1X True Parrot (hoplarchus psittacus)
1X Jack Dempsey
1X Texas
5X Red Hump Geos

-Dithers-
6X Spotted Silver Dollars
2X Longfin Blushing Tetras

-Oddballs-
Senegal Bichir
Black Ghost Knife

-Clean up-
Common Pleco
Flagtail Prochilodus

Honestly I think that severum are underrated when it comes to their aggressiveness, while they do not appear to be confrontational, mine have never been bullied. (Except when my female beat the crap out of my male)

Keeping a flagtail with them shouldn't be a problem either, mine has shown no interest the entire time I've had him when it comes to sucking slime coats. Although you may have to upgrade that 125 at one point if you do get one; they get freaking huge!

Must be a massive tank. I couldn't even house 1/4 if that stock.

Unfortunately, an upgrade to something bigger is out of the question. Is a 6' tank not large enough? I thought the flagtail only grow to 12-14"?

I tried angels and didn't like them. I like the idea of a firemouth though. Also like the idea of a blue Acura, but I would want a pure one and not one of those GT hybrids. I had a GT/blue acara hybrid when I purchased it as a blue acara. It got murderous and killed a bunch of my livestock though. :(
