I have been wanting something more out of my fish lately, instead of having a shy/pretty fish like my geo, i want one that is more of a personable fish...something that will greet me when i walk in the room, like an oscar, but i only have a 55 so im trying to stay away from oscars...i just want a fish that will be compatable with my severum because he is not shy at all but my geo beats up on him so i just want the calmer/personable fish...any suggestions?

You could try archocentrus centrarchus, the flier cichlid. My pair is very active and swimming about. They have a beautiful blue/green color when adults. Ithink males max out at 8-9 inches.

do you have pics of the flier cichlids ?they sound interesting would like to see them

Blue acara and rainbow cichlids (heterospilus mutispinosa) have been excellent companions to my 2 sevs. They're very peaceful but colorful and interactive, but I have found the rainbows to be more outgoing than the acara. This could be due to the rainbows being kept as a pair and the acara a single specimen.
