Severum/Uara and Plants

I second this one.

with my severum, plants he can't eat like anubias, he shreds up and pulls it out.

Pity. As I was possibly going to add a Severum to my tank.

Will have to re-look at my stocking options.

Viejas will also eat the plants and so will chocolates. The only plant i had success with was a java fern because they dont like the taste of the plant but you cant expect them not to grab them out of the substrate from time to time. I also had a bunch of floating moss i think it was and they would eat that before my amazon swords and i would just keep buying it so they would eat that instead. Ive seen severums in a 210g planted. Doing well without the plants eaten but on most cases they will snack.

I've had decent luck with anubias. I don't think sevs like the taste. You stand the best chance of making it work by getting the largest anubias you can find. I still have to replant them a couple times a week though.
