now that it is bigger maybe the sex can be beter deturmend i think it is female from the first posts that i did of it, i can't remember what we dermined it to be, but the store said green severum(don't look green to me now) and i don't seem to remember a disagreement with it but there could have been...it changed its colors alot...a few of the originals are at the bottom...

i would still like an idea on the sex as i have been thinking of getting another one to try and have pair up...
 
thats what i was thinking but i have this book that has them listed as bannded cichlids and they show one colored like mine as a male thus my confustion...
 
It looks like a male because of the worming around its face. I know that female Rotkeils do not have the worming - I don't know if its the same for other variants.
 
I think it has more to do with the worming in between their eyes, even that can sometimes be hard though. The worming are those small little lines around the face that shimmer a little. Im almost positive its a green though. had some that looked that same way, and my rotties look way different, but who knows
