Severum with parasite

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Haha...it ain't no thing, man. You should see how many people mistake me from behind because of my long hair.

I'm female, by the way lmao!
My husband's got hair down the middle of his back, always has had. Mine's real short though, go figure.

He's had his first dose of prazi this evening and I've also dropped some raw crushed garlic in the tank. He seems to be a bit more active though he's still not horribly interested in food. Hopefully soon though :crosses fingers:

Coppersafe for intestinal parasites?
I wouldn't mess with that, I've heard too many negative things about it. And while it works for velvet (sometimes) and ich (sometimes) I don't believe it does much for internal parasites, assuming that's what her Sev has.
Correct. Copper may prove useful in most cases but the effects can be damaging for most fish. Praziquantel and metronidazole can only eliminate a certain number of internal parasites whereas levamisole hydrochloride and flubendazole can cover a wide range of parasites including nematodes. Ask your vet for levamisole hydrochloride as its use is restricted in certain areas.

I'm really glad to hear that! When my Sev was a baby he just loved tiny mealworms. That'd bring him out every time, they're shy fish :-)
Lupin, I meant to tell you-that's really good info on those meds you named. I seldom think to mention them and I believe they're every bit as important. I should use them myself for quarrantined fish after the Prazi.

Ooooo...what an excellent idea. Where should I look for meal worms? Do they tend to be more nutritious than say brine shrimp?
