I recently perchased a Green Texas Cichlid it is 1.25-2"
It is in a 50Gallon Breeder Tank with a JD,2oscars it ocasionally chases the Oscars.
Now the Question...
Could i put 1m & 1f Severum with this Green Texas in a 75Gallon Tank i would realy like to keep the Texas but if there will be to big of a agression problem then I can take the Texas back to a LFS

the tex might become too aggressive, but then again, if the sevs mate, they may get aggressive, too

A carpintis will be much too aggressive. I have a carpintis x texas that is insane (see videos) and a breeding pair that was aggressive before they even met.

A breeding pair of severums will take up 3/4 of the tank and leave the carpintis with too small of a space. You might be able to try it because the sevs could stand up for themselves and the carpinte could easily defend itself against severums, but I wouldn't do it.

I'd do a breeding pair of carpintis instead of severums, but then any large-ish tank mate in this size tank would be out of the question...

i agree with both posts, that could be a tough combo to pull off. a texas can can be pretty nasty dont know if the average tempered sev can hang in.

I just removed my severum from a 75 with a GT... the GT was half its size but was chasing it all around. I think a texas would beat up a sev pretty bad.

some sev's are different then most they can be extremely aggresive but some can be little wussy's, but mine doesn't like to bother anyone and he doesn't get messed with. i say try it and if they show signs of being aggressive towards eachother then just6 remove one from the tank

^^I agree. Sevs are all really different. I have blind one that bites me during cleaning and feeding (need to hand feed it), and I had another that just hung out in a corner.

You'll need either a breeding pair of severums or a huge, mean one to stand up to a carpintis. The problem with a breeding pair is that they may end up being too much for the carpintis.

I have one of each in my 135g. They are the same size and have been friends for over 2 years now.
