if i wanted to breed some new sevreums im getting in a few months how hard would it be and could explain how to go about doing it. No Pun Intended

for starters youll need a 75 gallon preferably a soft substrate like a poolfilter sand, lay some slate down underneath and cover it most up when the pair starts to breed they wil uncover it fully
if your buying a pair straight off then your good but if your buying juvies then get 5 or 6 to ensure you get at least a pair, try moon lights as well they will deffinitely help too

Another thing to think about is what your going to do with all of the fry if/when you succeed. This one simple thing has turned a LOT of hobbiests off of breeding.

Local fish stores SOMETIMES take part of a batch off of your hands but you can't always count on it and the larger chains all have thier own distribution. shipping is a possibility but can have it's own problems unless your expieranced at it.

Generally once you have conditions ripe for spawning the genie is out the bottle so to speak and theres no going back....

okay im bauyin a pair that bred once before but i just got rid of my only other tank so what would i do theyre in a 150 with a royal plec,2 small orange pikes and god severum a cold clown knife and a black ghost knife

Perfect size tank....but when they do lay there eggs....i would recommend removing them and placing them into a small tank to hatch...becuz if your sevs dont guard the fry well enough your pikes or clown knife might make snacks out of them:naughty:

also in my experience with severums, when i turned the heat just above 80 degrees they seem to be more likely to spawn then at cooler temps.

okay thanks and acintic blue is a moon light right

will acintic blue work
