Recently I ended up with two gold severums and have been reading alot about severums in general. They seem pretty cool but I wanted to ask about them because the forum I always thought gives better info than a bunch of random sites. I wanted to know how aggressive they are, what tankmates are good, and if other severums are put in how aggressive would they be with each other.

They're generally considered among the more peaceful cichlids, but some individuals can be meaner. Mine holds his own against my oscar, but he doesn't normally go out of his way to pick on any other fish. This one is my first severum, but he's getting upgraded to a 150 soon, and I'd like to get several more as they're pretty cool fish

I keep a pair of gold severums myself. No, they are not aggressive in my experience at all but there are always exceptions to the rule. They were grown in my community tank while they were just an inch size and have spawned several times already. If you want to keep other fish in there, you could try small species of plecos such as bristlenose plecos, clown plecos or any other small panaque, ancistrus or hypancistrus. How big is the tank? Other tankmates to consider are giant danios, filament barbs, SAEs, arulius barbs, silver dollars, Congo tetras, Buenos Aires tetras, striped raphael catfish and many more.

:iagree: They would go well with any of the above mentioned fish, I currently have 2 in with a school of silver dollars and a bristlenose pleco

From my experience, sevs are as posted, pretty peacefull fish. During breeding however, my male turns into a great white shark on steroids.....
