x2. If your really set on an earther eater species have you looked into some of the other species not just in the Geophagus genus? For example: Gymnogeophagus and Guianacara.

Yes I have, and I not fixated on true geophagus. What gymno species woudl your recommend?

I wouldn't keep one Sev in a 3ft tank permanently, let alone two.

I put my old Green in my 50g 3ft temporarily as 'time out' as she was bullying my Rotties, and she looked HUGE in there and she wasn't even fully grown, she was about 6". They can get to double that.

I wouldn't even put a Rottie in there. Just not enough room.

2 sevs will look badass in a 65, u dont need nothing else, throw in some BA tetras or something

I wouldn't keep them in a 3' tank. Do you have the sevs and the tank already? If so, put them in there and take a quick look. You'll realize how small they make the tank look...
