"How It's Made: Bladder Snails"
Can any invert people comment on the shell color. All the snails in this setup go this color. I have about 1.5~2kg (3~4lbs) of coral fragments in the sump, ample food and lighting, very stable water params yet they always seem to "shell bleach".
This is the preferred spawning cove of the S. Breviventralis. It is directly below the inlet of the tank on the edge of the current. Those are pothos roots.
Some other pics pics of the fish that weren't garbage.
I love the bottom of hillstream loaches. You can clearly see this male's heart.
Recently got this guy in a mixed batch of Gastromyzon Zenrinus and Gastromyzon viriosis. Still trying to figure out what he is.
After reseaching a little, I am leaning mostly towards Hypergastromyzon humilis or a slim chance it could be gastromyzon occelatus. The flatter profile makes me think is is not gastromyzon hich are slightly more thicc.
I will email the pics to some people I have contacted in the past to help with ID.
He has left this quarantine tank and is now in with the G. Zebrinus, G. viriosis and the panda loaches.
Rescaped slightly.
Took out a lot of the lower gravel and filled with sand for a different look that will help to keep food lying on top to be eaten instead of in the cracks only.
still deciding on bottom tank. Think dark gravel might work.
A rare sighting of the biggest Spotty in the tank.
The other 2 tanks in the rack were also rescaped slightly.
The Panda Loach tank will also house some Gastromyzon ctenocephalus, gastromyzon zebrinus, Gastromyzon viriosis and hypergastromyzon humilis which are in quarantine at the moment.
The Hypergastromyzon - I have only been able to find one and that was by accident. On the look out for more. They LOVE the current and perch here most of the time.
One of the first gastromyzon I got is already in the second tank.
The Panda Loach tank rescape. I removed a lot of the front gravel and replaced with river sand. The fish seem a lot calmer with it. It has also brightened the tank a bit.
The Panda Garra and S. Breviventralis tank got a substrate. I wanted a different look so went with a dark smaal size gravel and kept it flat. The spaces give the young sewellia places to find food.
