I wonder what this statement is based on. I have yet to see a proven female with as much red trim on the pectoral fin as the male on the right side.

It is based upon my many years of owning and importing Green Terrors. I have had many males that had dull trim on their fins, does this mean they were females?? Of course not. It is simply an indication of quality.

No offense, but "it is so because I saw it many times" isn't really convincing. Need pictures man......but I'm sure you have better things to spend your time on than to convince me.

And it's not the color of the trim. It's the width.

PS. I don't know why I typed "pectoral fin"....I meant "caudal fin". My apologies.

small looks female to me. As easy as people say these fish are to sex I don't think its all that easy until they are vented.
Everyone thought my female was a male...so I vented her then she laid eggs haha

it could be a subdued male, or a nice female. venting is the only way to find out.

ok this is the only other decent pic i could get so far .....

so what with the venting the vent will be rounder then the male??
or larger tear drop ? or something whats the best way to vent the rivulatus
not other africans ?
