I would like to see the fish "in" focus. Possibly a vent shot would be nice. I have seen many many males with female markings on the gills. The overall shape and fins looks male also to me..Perhaps I need specticles...





EDIT: I turned the brightness down on my PC...And I see beans now. My stuff was 100% brightness...at 65% Looks female. The markings become more clear

JD's when sexually mature are one of the easiest to sex. especially when this fish in the pic is showing swollen genitalia, and plump body as if filling with eggs, preparing for spawning soon.
