^^ Yup male and at 4" you should be able to vent. sometimes at that size it hurts my eyes to vent but it can be done

Thanks guys its a male... as for venting im going to wait i tried venting s few weeks ago and i still cant tell it huts my eyes i need a magnifying glass lol...

I've been fooled by many a 4" festae. Some are easy to sex at that size, others look like one sex and turn out to be the other. It does look male, but I'm on the fence with this one, it could be either imho. Give it a few more months and post it again.

I will lean towards male as well, the one in my avatar was about 4" when I got him and yours looks pretty close.

I know there are pics of vents of other fish other than festaes all over the net. Does anyone have or can get Festae vent pics. All fish vents vary from one fish to another, species wise.

Well guys if you were to look at his previous update you would be singing a different tune. This guy has definitely fooled me. After seeing more recent pics I've went with female, so until it grows out more or is vented there really isn't any sure answer yet
