Sex my festae

I just got this fish a week or 2 ago and it has colored up nicely.
Can you tell me if it's male or female? (sorry about the horrible pic)

How did you come to this conclusion? I would just like to know, is there a trick to them?

Yea man, I am hoping it's female to! Have been looking at some more pics and the female really do look cooler.

Sexing is quite easy and very accurate - look at the dorsal fin, if the front half is solid colored black you've got a female. If it is red with blue speckles, you've got a male. Venting is still the only 100% accurate method, but this way gives good results. You should be able to use this way with any festae over 2-2.5".
