Sex My GT and JD Please

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Now that I look at the two pictures I see what you mean, their body shape looks exactly the same, the face looks the same and the fins all look the same.. It was in a tank labeled 'Assorted Cichlids', were a few that looked like this fish and the rest were Convicts, so the Convict thing makes sense.. Would you recommend getting a full JD insead? Just worried because I have no idea how to sex a hybrid fish and I have no idea on the temperemant.

I personally like hybrids, considering the fact that you don't know if you will ever find one just like it. Makes them unique. Here are what my jaguar x convict hybrids look like...I bought them because I always see convicts and jaguars, but never had seen these. Again, it might be feisty but I would definitely keep it.

Right so I had to remove my Oscar last night as the 2 new fish had both taken turns beating on it and it wasn't fighting back.. It has now gone from the slightly larger Con x Jack owning the tank to the GT chasing him around constantly. Will these 2 4" fish eventually establish territories in my 90 gal? Is there any way my Oscar will work with them or could adding a larger Oscar help?

Flogging a dead horse, but I too will add that it looks Con x JD. If you had a spare tank you could possibly grow him out to see how he'll look.

For the aggression, you could try more decoration and hiding spots, might lessen the aggression enough to be manageable till things settle.

Yeah theres a way but youll have to add another oscar of similar size to the other oscar the only thing you did by removing him was direct all the aggresion in the tank to another fish once you have a aggressive fish in a tank the only things you can do is either add more fish or remove the aggressor and by the way nice gold saum you have there
