Does anyone else think that looks like a Gold not a Silver?

yeah i dont know im pretty torn on this one, it has no dorsal design like a female but has the gill plate spotting and body irridescence of a male, how big is he/she? and im leaning towards it being a gold saum, even gold saum will have white edging when they are small juvies but it will turn to gold as they get bigger as it looks like yours is doing

Im going to say that he is about 3 inches long maybe grown 1 inch in 4 months.. the pictures I have given dont do it justice as i cant get a full side on picture without a flash as it always comes up blurry.. I will keep trying thanks all for you comments

if its only 3in, then i think it may be a late blooming male, my guy didnt get pointed fins till he was 3.5in while my female got pointed fins and trailers at 2.5-3in so with that you never can tell, though if the body scales are nice and iridescent/shiny then its most likely male, best bet would be to catch him and vent him (or take pic of his/her vent under high lighting and post on here)

Ok so I had my good friend from my LFS come over to vent my GT..
And the result was that it is defiantly a male..
Im excited.. When do you believe he will start showing strong orange through his tail..

depends on water quailty, food, geans and overall gneral living conditions. Keep up with weekly water changes high quality food & low stress and he should color up soon.
