Try venting the fish by looking at the anal shape........U for male and v for female.........

Come on, you cant give false advice. You DO NOT look at the anal shape. The vent tube is located between the anus and the tail fin. And the male in most species, not all, will be more pointed towards the head of the fish, while the female is U. The females vent is also much larger in size or shape. You really need to research before giving faulty advice. Thanks for trying, but the wrong info helps nobody.

As for the Jag. That is a definite male. I have learned that the males on all parachromis, have more spotting throughout the body and fins.
