I'm gonna have to disagree with you somewhat here livebearerfreak.
I do beleive a 55g is doable with a pair of jd's. I was able to house a pair in my old 55g quite a ways back with no problems. My male was perfectly healthy and happy but was not 12 inches long. Do what you please rosenbaum, but i would think your fine with adding a female.
