What am I loping for when I look at it's vent not sure I can get a clear pic of it with a ipod

Does it have red/orange lines on its face/gills/between the eyes? If so, it's a male. If the face is plain solid yellow, it's a female.

id say a male, looks the same shape and dimensions as my red spotted male, the long fins would also suggest male, great looking sev!

It's a female unless you can get a close up of the face that is radically different to what I can see here.
