im in Singapore. ;)

but i believe its not easy to find now anywhere in the world. after they got listed in CITES II back in early 2005 their origin countries banned export. no captive breeding have been recorded except in 2 Zoos if i didnt remember wrongly.
i know the bronx zoo has bred them atleast twice, and there was a zoo in europe that got a baby, in addition two those two im pretty sure there is a guy in austrailia that has been breeding them with some regularity

To be honest I think you got yourself 2 boys;) That girl´s tail doesant seems very girlish to me, hope your keeping them apart even if they are a copple

that's what i suspect too. that's why i'm calling it a "girl". but somehow some measurements are confusing me as both of them are of the same size. currently, both of them are separated. ;)

read about the zoos. but not about the guy in australia.

10 year old female Carettochelys insculpta with
25cm Carapax length.

The weight of the female is with 3300g almost
27% higher than that of the male with same size.

Note the high domed Carapax and more
massive shape of the body. The tail is less
dominant.

10 year old male Carettochelys insculpta with
24cm Carapax length.

The weight of the male is with 2600g much
lower than that of the the female.

Note the carpax shape and the more
massive and stronger tail.

the tail of the female looks quite like my "girl". and if we look at the distance between the ventral to the plastron, it's also quite similiar to my "girl".

the difference is the weight and the height of the carapax. but my "girl" is still in the process of weight gaining. it have already gained around 1lb since i got it. when i got it, it was only around 2.6lb

Oh boy:nilly:Now I think they realy are copple:nilly:There is a way to find out for shure;) For that you must wach them closely in large period and they must be isolated. A male turt is quite macho and with no females around it will try sometimes to copulate with rocks, filters ,etc also most males from time to time "fan" that is they have a erecion and most people get quite surprised because the organ is quite large when fully extended (its not the first time I hear that people go to the vet saying that its tutle has "gutts coming out") :naughty: Also the penis is often visible when the animals defecate and it apears a black thing that goes in and out of the rectus. Females dont exibit any of thouse and obviously they can lay eggs;)

already emailed a local vet who specializes in aquatic animals for his comments. but he haven't got back to me. i did asked him in the email if probing can be done to confirm their sex.

but then again, this "couple" is still young. so we still can't be very sure that they are a couple till they are much older unless probing can be done.

so far have not noticed any of those signs you mentioned. maybe i will try to look out for those.

First of dont prove them, its a delicate procedure(permanent damage can be don) and it wont show anything that time wont reveal. By the way why are you so unpacient into sex them? Oh and nice turts;)

i understand that females are more aggressive compared to males. i plan to rent a pond to keep them in there together. if i do that i won't be able to monitor them 24/7 and anything might happen.

thanks.
